This pack was created with historical accuracy in mind. The architecture (particularly of the main buildings) is modeled after real monuments, with the aim to increase the sense of realism.

Why do all the downloaded images have that eye-searing purple background?
Oh, you are talking about the dl images - purple/pink was the standard transparency color in a few strategy game sprites, so I used that... Shouldn't matter, although probably the color in the preview pics would be easier on the eye ^_^
I used ImageMagick to make the backgrounds transparent to use it in Unity.
If you implement them in a project, I would love to see pics of it! :)
